Thank, Pirates!!! The Bookmark Kick-off Party was a success!!! Over 150 children's books were collected in 15 minutes!!! Keep it going, Pirates!!! We will continue accepting these books throughout the month of May 2010! As of May 19th, we have collected 258 books!!

Seniors! You still have time! Bring new or gently used children's book to donate. A "Read like a Pirate" bookmark will be placed in each book with the name of the student who donated the book. During the first week of June, the donated books will be distributed to elementary students in Durham Public School.

Come join the Summer Reading Kick-off sponsored by the Riverside Media Center and the Durham Public Library. Students will be able to sign up for public library cards, join the Riverside summer reading program, play video games, and enjoy snacks. The event will take place during all lunch periods on Wednesday, May 19. Bring your friends and enyoy the fun.

Below you will find the award winner for 2009-2010 and a list of books nominated for the 2010-2011 Best Book. If you wish to participate, over the summer read at least 4 of the books on the list below, and in the fall we will have ballots available for you to choose your favorite.
